Method & materials
On cold service the vapour barrier is the system. If moisture reaches the cold surface it condenses, the insulation wets out and stops insulating, and the line corrodes under it — so barrier continuity at every joint, support and termination matters more than thickness.
Cladding is lapped to shed water in the direction it will run, and sealed at penetrations rather than relying on the lap alone.
