Construction & operation
The screen is a basket with a lifting handle, removed from the top, so everything it captures can be lifted out for disposal. For applications with a large load of solids and frequent clean-out.
Covers can be bolted, hinged, clamped or quick-closing, with a davit or other lifting device to make removing a large, heavy cover safe.
Suited to services that need an extremely sturdy screen: high pressure and temperature duties, and high viscosity fluids.
Filtration level. When choosing a perforation or a mesh-and-perforation combination, avoid overstraining: as a rule the specified filtration should be no finer than half the size of the particle to be removed. Too fine a filtration raises the pressure drop very rapidly and can damage the basket.
