Wet Pilot Inline Deluge Assembly (Stainless Steel)
The PD-ILVS inline deluge valve in cast stainless steel, assembled with wet pilot trim: the pilot line is charged with water, and when it loses pressure the cover chamber drains and the valve opens fully.

Construction & operation
Deluge valves are used where a large volume of water has to be applied quickly, and are integral components of fire protection systems: power transformer installations, storage tanks, conveyors and other industrial applications. With a foaming agent added, a deluge valve can protect aircraft hangars and flammable liquid fires.
The PD-ILV range is diaphragm operated and line-fluid actuated: a globe-type, straight-pattern valve. It stays closed while line water is held above the diaphragm in the cover chamber, and opens fully when that chamber is emptied.
Trims
Wet actuation. The pipework is permanently charged with water, for premises where temperatures are unlikely to fall below freezing. A steady flow equal to the discharge of one or more sprinklers actuates the electric or hydraulic alarms.
Electric release. A solenoid valve drains the water from the top chamber of the deluge valve. A pressure switch raises an electric alarm, shuts down equipment or gives a "Tripped" indication; in a dry pilot airline it can also monitor "low air pressure" and "fire condition".
Test and alarm trim. A test valve checks the sprinkler alarm bell; the alarm can be supplied to ring when the deluge valve actuates.
Drain and drip trim. Main and system drain valves, with a drip valve.
