Construction & operation
The hydraulically operated valve sits in the foam concentrate line of a bladder tank or atmospheric tank proportioning system. It keeps the concentrate line shut while the system is idle, and opens automatically when the system operates, using the pressure of the system water on its actuator — so concentrate reaches the proportioner without anyone having to open a valve.
It stays open until it is closed by hand. The system is reset deliberately after a discharge, not by a pressure change.
Maintenance
- Check the actuator line from the water supply is open and free of leaks.
- Operate the valve during system tests, and close it by hand afterwards to reset.
- Flush the concentrate line after any discharge so concentrate does not set in the valve.
